- Head height: Face centred and fully visible, taken from the front following international biometric standards.
File Format
- JPEG (.jpg) format
- Color photo, not black & white
Background & Lighting
- Plain white background with no shadows, objects, or people behind you. Migraciones recommends dark clothing for contrast against the white.
- Even lighting, no harsh shadows on face or background
- No filters or digital alterations
Pose & Framing
- Face camera directly, full face in view
- Both eyes open, looking at camera
- Head centered and level
Expression & Attire
- Neutral expression, both eyes open and visible, no glasses obscuring the eyes.
- No uniforms (except religious/medical)
- No head coverings
Glasses & Accessories
- No eyeglasses
- No earphones or wireless devices
- Photo taken within the last 6 months

Short-lived storage only
Successful standard processing is not retained. If background removal fails, the original is stored privately for troubleshooting for up to 7 days; the same limit applies to Expert Review.
