## Common rejection reasons

### Wrong size or head height

The photo must be 35×45mm with the head about 34mm tall and the face filling 70–80% of the frame. Too small or too large a head causes rejection.

What to do: Use the 35×45mm crop and stand so your face fills most of the frame.

### Wearing glasses

Glasses must be removed for the biometric photo. Reflections or frames over the eyes cause rejection.

What to do: Take the photo without glasses.

### Non-white background

The background must be plain white. Off-white, grey, or patterned backgrounds are rejected by the DGIP portal.

What to do: Use a plain white wall or our automatic background replacement.

### Non-neutral expression

A neutral expression with a closed mouth is required; both eyes open and facing the camera.

What to do: Relax your face, close your mouth, and look straight at the camera.

### File too large or wrong resolution

The online application needs a JPEG under 350KB at the correct resolution. Oversized files are rejected on upload.

What to do: Export a JPEG within the size limit.

### Photo too old

The photo must have been taken within the last 6 months and show your current appearance.
