Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Introduction
One Dollar Passport Photo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our passport and ID photo service.
2. Photo Processing & Storage
We do not retain photos from successful standard processing.
- Background removal may transmit photo bytes to our processing provider solely to produce the result. Those bytes are not retained by that operation.
- If background removal fails, the original photo and technical failure details are automatically uploaded to private troubleshooting storage. The failure report is kept for no more than 7 days.
- If you purchase and select Expert Review, your photo is securely stored for the human review and automatically deleted after 7 days.
- Outside automatic failure diagnostics and Expert Review, we do not retain or provide account-history access to your photos.
3. Information We Collect
We collect limited information necessary to provide our service:
Payment Information
When you make a purchase, payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe may collect and store your payment information in accordance with their privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation of payment and your email address (if provided during checkout).
Email Address
If you provide an email address during checkout, we use it solely to send you a payment confirmation and recovery link for your download access. We do not use your email for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in.
Usage Data
We may collect anonymous, aggregated data about how our service is used (e.g., page views, feature usage) to improve our service. This data cannot be used to identify you personally. When background removal fails, the diagnostic event may include the country and document type, failure stage and reason, processing mode, an allowlisted file type, a coarse file-size range, and duration. It does not include your photo, filename, photo URL, or raw error message. Session replay is configured to mask form inputs and block photo previews and canvases.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process your payment and provide access to the service
- Send transactional emails (payment confirmation, download links)
- Respond to your inquiries or support requests
- Improve and optimize our service
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only with:
- Payment processors (Stripe): To process your payments securely
- Infrastructure providers (Cloudflare): To process background removal and privately store photos you explicitly share for troubleshooting or Expert Review, subject to the retention periods above
- Analytics providers: To understand feature usage and technical failures. Photo previews, canvases, and form inputs are blocked or masked in session replay.
- Human reviewer: Only when you purchase and select Expert Review
- Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. All data transmissions are encrypted using SSL/TLS. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Cookies
We use essential storage for service operation and limited analytics storage to understand usage and technical failures. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics respects browser Do Not Track settings.
