Kroger Doesn't List Photo Among Its Store Services at All
Kroger's own In-Store Services page lists Coinstar, Western Union, phone cards and check cashing. No photo service appears anywhere. Whether your branch has a print kiosk is a question only that store can answer.
Kroger publishes a page listing what your local store offers. Checked on 2026-09-09, it covers Kroger Wireless, Coinstar, prepaid calling cards, Western Union and Money Services check cashing.
Photo is not on it. Not photo printing, not a photo counter, not a kiosk. No Kroger photo page exists either: five plausible URLs all 404 or fail to route.
So nobody at Kroger will take your passport photo, and the company does not present photo printing as something it does.
What changes by store
Some Kroger locations have historically had a self-service print kiosk near the front. Where one exists it will print a 4x6 from a file, which is all a passport sheet needs.
The problem is that a kiosk is a machine that happens to be in a building, not a service the company sells. Kroger publishes nothing about which stores have one, what it charges, or whether it still works. That is different in kind from a drugstore photo counter, where the chain lists the service and stands behind it.
This page previously quoted 35 cents a print. That figure is not published by Kroger, and tracing it back it appears to be a kiosk claim that has been copied between sites, including onto ours, until it acquired the look of a fact. It has been removed rather than hedged.
How to find out in one call
Since nothing online will tell you, phone the branch you would actually use and ask two things: whether there is a working photo kiosk, and what a 4x6 costs. That is the entire research task, and it takes less time than reading comparisons of it.
If the answer is no, or you would rather not gamble a trip on it, the counters that publish both a service and a price are Walgreens at $16.99 for two prints with the digital file emailed and $0.39 per 4x6 if you bring your own, and Staples at $19.99. Office Depot will not photograph you but will print a file, same day if it is in before 2pm.
Making the file first
Whichever machine you end up in front of, the sheet has to be right before you get there, because at a kiosk there is nobody to fix it.
One Dollar Passport Photo costs $1. Upload a picture, the background is replaced and the frame is cropped to the 2x2 inch specification, and the finished result appears watermarked before you pay. It lays six compliant photos onto one 4x6 sheet and gives you the digital file as well. The US passport photo page has the current specification.
That turns the Kroger question into a small one. If the kiosk is there, you print for pennies while doing the shopping. If it is not, the same file works at any counter that is.
Frequently Asked Questions
My Kroger used to have a photo kiosk. Is it still there?
That is genuinely a question only your store can answer, and it is the honest summary of this whole page. Kroger publishes nothing about kiosks: not which branches have one, not what it charges, not whether it is maintained. Their In-Store Services page does not mention photo services at all. One phone call to your branch settles it and nothing online will.
Why do other sites quote a Kroger passport photo price?
Because a figure gets repeated until it looks official. The commonly cited 35 cents is a self-service kiosk claim, not a rate Kroger publishes, and this page carried it too until September 2026. The only per-print price we have actually verified anywhere in this comparison is Walgreens at $0.39 per 4x6.
