Office Depot Won't Take Your Passport Photo, But It Will Print One by 2pm

Office Depot has no passport photo service. What it does have is self-service printing from email, Drive, Dropbox or USB, with a 2pm cutoff for same-day pickup. What that means if you already have the photo.

Office Depot does not take passport photos. Their own passport photo URL redirects to the homepage, and the word does not appear on it.

That sounds like the end of the page, and on most sites it is. It is not, because Office Depot is unusually good at the other half of the job: printing a photo you already have, quickly, from wherever the file lives.

Before you go

Everything here depends on getting three things right in advance.

  • Have the file, correctly laid out. A 2x2 passport photo is a crop of a 4x6 sheet. Turn up with a phone snapshot and there is nobody to fix it for you.
  • Order online by 2pm if you want it the same day. That is their published cutoff.
  • Know where the file is. Their self-service machines print from email, Google Drive, Dropbox or a USB flash drive. Uploads are wiped after 24 hours, which they state on the page.

What it costs, honestly

Office Depot publishes rates for copies starting at $0.18, flyers from $0.68, posters from $13.99, laminating from $1.39. There is no per-photo-print price anywhere.

Those rates were checked on 2026-09-09. An earlier version of this page put a photo print at $0.29. That figure was not Office Depot’s and has been removed rather than adjusted. The $0.18 copies rate is a copy rate, and quietly reusing it as the cost of a photo sheet would be the same mistake in a different suit.

If a published photo price matters to you, Walgreens lists $0.39 per 4x6 with free same-day pickup. If convenience of location matters more, ask at the Office Depot counter and you will get a real answer in a minute.

The route, in order

First, make the sheet: six compliant 2x2 photos laid out on a single 4x6. One Dollar Passport Photo does this for $1 and shows you the finished result watermarked before you pay anything.

Then send it before 2pm for same-day collection, or walk in and print it yourself from email, Drive, Dropbox or a USB stick.

Then collect and cut. One sheet carries six photos, which is more than a passport application needs and useful when a visa or an ID renewal follows in the same month.

The US passport photo page has the current specification.

While you are there

Two things worth knowing, because they change whether the trip is worth making at all.

Office Depot also handles TSA PreCheck applications in store, which no drugstore photo counter offers. If you are organising travel documents rather than just a photo, that combination may be the actual reason to pick this shop over a pharmacy.

And if you do not want to operate the machine, print specialists will do the job for you. The self-service route is the cheap one, not the only one.

Where this fails: if what you needed was somebody to take the photograph, Office Depot cannot help and no amount of good printing changes that. Walgreens at $16.99 or Staples at $19.99 will put a trained person behind the camera. Office Depot is for people who have already solved that part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Office Depot has a passport photo page in search results. Why does it go nowhere?

Because the service behind it is gone. officedepot.com/l/passport-photo now redirects to the homepage, and the word passport does not appear there. The URL outlived the offering, which is why it still surfaces in search. Nobody at Office Depot will photograph you; they will print a photo you already have, which is a different service and the reason this page exists.

How much does it cost to print a passport photo sheet there?

They do not publish a figure, and this page used to invent one. Office Depot lists copies starting at $0.18 and rates for flyers, posters and banners, but no per-photo-print price appears anywhere we could find. An earlier version of this page said $0.29; that number was not theirs. Ask at the counter, or use a retailer that publishes a photo rate, such as Walgreens at $0.39 per 4x6.

What can I print from?

Email, Google Drive, Dropbox or a USB flash drive, at the self-service machines in store. Their page adds that uploads are securely wiped after 24 hours, which is more than most retailers say about your file.
